Terex Trucks (a Division of Volvo Construction Equipment) is one of the largest heavy-engineering operations in Central Scotland who have been manufacturing and supporting off-highway dump trucks at their Motherwell facility for over 65 years. These huge trucks are used all around the world within the construction, quarrying and mining sectors and they range from 25 ton articulated trucks to monstrous 100 ton rigid trucks.
With a real commitment to Quality and Environmental Management, the organisation was keen to be one of the first to gain certification to the new ISO (2015) standards. As a result they acjieved being one of the first companies globally, and the first in their industry to attain certification for their Quality Management system to ISO 9001:2015, and they have also completed certification to ISO 14001:2015 with their Certification Body LRQA. QCS International has worked with Terex over many years providing training and consultancy support and we are proud to have assisted them in the transition to these new standards.
QCS provided consultancy support initially by reviewing existing arrangements to understand what the Company was already doing that would need little or no adjustment to the new standards. From this review a full action plan was developed and our consultants assisted Terex to implement the necessary changes including training staff to meet the new requirements.
‘QCS have been on hand at all times to assist us with our transition project. It is always reassuring to have guidance and support from well informed and enthusiastic consultants. We look forward to working with the QCS team as we strive to achieve certification to the new ISO 45001 management system for health and safety when this is issued in 2016!’
Paul Hudson, Operations Director
