Accident reporting is essential for maintaining a safe workplace, as it aims to prevent accidents from recurring. Under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (2013), employers must designate “responsible persons” to report accidents, major injuries, dangerous occurrences, and fatalities in the workplace. As such, reporting accidents is a legal obligation.
